У статті розглянуто основні аспекти наукового дослідження «Бібліотеки в повоєнному суспільстві: зарубіжний досвід відновлення», проведеного у Національній бібліотеці України імені Ярослава Мудрого у 2023 р., та презентовано його результати. Проаналізовано досвід функціонування бібліотек під час воєн, успіхи і невдачі у процесах повоєнної відбудови бібліотечної справи у країнах, які пережили війну у ХХ–ХХІ ст. Акцентовано увагу на внеску бібліотек у повоєнне відновлення суспільства. Обґрунтовано можливість використання успішних зарубіжних практик повоєнного відновлення у бібліотечній справі України.
